Agrarian Design Thesis
Semester 2 – Hesketh Bank Outmarsh
The site was Hesketh Bank Outmarsh, close to the area of Tarleton a small Lancashire town. The area is very much surrounded by agriculture primarily dealing with salad crops.
To conceive a design on what appeared a blank canvas I engaged with the “Deconstruction” of the Architectural Plan as a lie. By creating a grid of the site from the movements of people and animals, the boundaries of land and protection by boarders, I deconstructed properties of the site into a building form, even the structural properties were created “Of the site”.
Building type
The Building consisted of five different programs that combined together to create one proposal :-
-
Micro Dutch Auction House
-
Seed Bank
-
Intergenerational Community Hub
-
Agricultural Research Centre
-
Seasonal Workers Residency
